The National Park is composed of a set of limestone mountains, which, thanks to the abundance of water, make the arising from karticos landscapes of very hilly terrain and with various formations of canyons, chasms, caves, etc. In this sense, the Hundidero-Gato sima of the complex and the Cueva de la Pileta stand out above all. The most symbolic element of the Park, in addition to the dense mediterranean forest of holm oaks, cork trees and oaks, is the pinsapo, mainly concentrated in the Sierra del Pinar. This species is a descendant of the central European spruce trees that formed large forests here in the ice ages. In relation to wildlife protrudes the colony of vultures that live in the "Garganta Verde", in addition to other animals such as the eagle, mountain goat, or the deer. We can carry out a variety of very different routes and practice a wide variety of sports activities such as hiking, canoeing, mountain climbing, canyoning, etc. Highlight are: the Cuevas de Pileta, Gato y Hundiñero, Los Llanos de Libar, Revés y Republicano, Garganta Verde y Bocaleones, the forests of Sierra de Libar, Salto del Cabrero, the Majete and Guadiaro, rivers, reservoirs of Zahara and Hurones, roman roads, etc. The villages in the Sierra de Grazalema are framed within the path of the White Villages where you will find an urban pattern of arab origin very similar in all of them with narrow streets and whitewashed, two-storyhigh white houses. We have a variety of civil and religious monuments of all the ages, from cave paintings of the Paleolithic Period of the Cueva de la Pileta y del Gato, passing aqueducts, villas and Roman roads as the one of Acinipo (Ronda), Ocuri (Ubrique) or Lacidulia (Grazalema). In addition to Arab and Christian remains above all the remarkable castle (Zahara de la Sierra), castle of Fatima (Ubrique), the innumerable religious and civil buildings of Ronda, Nazari(Benaocaz) or the Church of S. Anna (Algodonales.)
